Name the build a test run is testingBryce Kwon-1/+7
After tools/build-development.sh or build-release.sh, a plain make test quietly rebuilt without the sanitizers or the hardening and tested that binary instead, with nothing in its output to say so.
Correct the comments on the test plumbingBryce Kwon-2/+4
cgit_rc keeps its name, close as it is to cgitrc_repo and cgitrc_copy, since every script calls it, so a comment now says what it runs.
Clean a trash directory a stopped test lockedBryce Kwon-0/+3
A script stopped by -i or --debug inside one of the SANITY tests leaves a directory without permissions, and make clean then failed on it.
Run every test script and sum up the resultsBryce Kwon-5/+19
make stopped at the first failing script and left every later one unrun. Each script's closing line also counts its skipped tests as passes, so a run that skipped half the suite read like a full one, and the counts the library writes for each script were never read.
Keep the test results where the library puts themBryce Kwon-1/+1
Only the counts were re-pointed at results/. The --tee, --verbose-log and --stress logs, the leak logs and the counts of a script skipped through GIT_SKIP_TESTS still went to test-results/, which nothing ignored or cleaned, so a summary read from one place would miss them.
Declare each phony target beside its ruleBryce Kwon-4/+5
A list at the end of the file is easy to miss when a target is added or renamed.
Collect test output under trash and resultsBryce Kwon-1/+1
Prefer POSIX forms throughout the test scriptsBryce Kwon-0/+3
Tidy the test comments and shell portabilityBryce Kwon-4/+16
Reorganise the tree into vendor/ and custom/Bryce Kwon-1/+1
Make the clean targets remove real test outputBryce Kwon-2/+2
Reorganise into source, assets and librariesBryce Kwon-1/+1
Everything the build generates now lands in build/, so a clean is a single remove and the source tree stays free of build output.
tests: allow shell to be overriddenJohn Keeping-1/+5
On some systems (e.g. Solaris), /bin/sh is not a POSIX shell. Git already provides suitable overrides in its config.mak.uname file and we provide cgit.conf to allow the user to further change this. The code for this is taken from Git's t/Makefile, meaning that we now invoke the tests in the same way that Git does. Signed-off-by: John Keeping <john@keeping.me.uk>
tests: add CGIT_TEST_OPTS variable to MakefileJohn Keeping-1/+1
This allows running the entire test suite with a set of command-line options. For example: make test CGIT_TEST_OPTS=--valgrind Signed-off-by: John Keeping <john@keeping.me.uk>

Create initial testsuiteLars Hjemli-0/+13
This creates a simple testsuite, heavily inspired by the testsuite in git. Signed-off-by: Lars Hjemli <hjemli@gmail.com>
